Sketches are rough ideas that often go nowhere. They represent an offering to my own creative practice. Value studies that help me decide color possibilities. Experimentation in color usage, i.e. purple trees, green sky, etc… experimentation in abstract shapes and designs liberated from physics and fact. Removing the need to complete a picture brings out an authentic and carefree flair to my creative process– and sometimes that rough-hewn, raw expression can be beautiful and worthy in its incomplete form.
